AWS recognized groove and fillet weld testing and qualifications.
Are you a welder without qualifications to support your contracts. or a company with welders who need to test to a specific welding process? We can not only administer testing for standard AWS processes, but can also provide coaching and testing for a custom WPS, specific to your requirements. Testing Options
Test Only
This option is for welders experienced with AWS standard testing and need their qualifications updated or additional weld progressions added.
$350 inc 2 sets of test pieces.
1 hour lab time.
Prep & Test
If it's been a while since your last test environment, or you are attempting a challenging qualification, we can provide a demonstration and coaching session prior to testing.
$500, inc 2 sets of test pieces.
3 hours lab time.
WPS Testing
We are able to administer tests against a specific Welding Procedure Specification. You may provide an existing WPS or we can create one specific to your needs.
$500: inc 2 sets of test pieces.
3 hours lab time.
Test Details

Two sets of test pieces are provided, the best of the two at visual inspection is chosen for destructive testing.

Prep & Test includes demonstration of the weld test as well as coaching and advice in passing the process. Two sets of practice pieces provided in addition to the final test pieces.

Testing for fillet welds will include visual inspection, macro etch, and physical break test.

Groove welds receive a visual inspection, surface polishing, and guided bend test.

Weld tests may be conducted in our 8-station, climate-controlled, and ventilated welding lab or for multiple welder tests, we can arrange a visit and conduct the testing on site.

Welders will prepare their own test pieces. For groove weld tests, the bevel will be pre-cut to the appropriate angle, however surface preparation is always advised.
Pipe welding
We do not currently administer tests in 5G or 6G pipe welding positions.
Travel time
On site Prep & Test may incur a small travel cost if a second visit is required.
Custom WPS
Preparation of custom procedure will incur a cost for each company specific WPS.
